JAMES TROY IVEY born January 8, 1927 passed away March 14, 2016. He was preceded in death by parents James Albert and Roxie Ivey; brother, William Holt Ivey, Sr.; sister, Ruby Nell Reeves. He is survived by wife of 53 years, Wynelle Ivey; children Paul Fowler, Teena Fowler, Carla Hagerich; grandchildren, Kayla Cartee, Aimee Hensley; great grandchildren, Preston Moyer, London Hensely, Hunter Moyer, Brylee Hensely, Maverick Cartee, sister, Hazel June Craig and numerous nieces and newphews. James served in the United States Army from 1944-1946 Metal of Honor. He went to work for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office in 1958 -1989.In 1989, he began working as a bailiff for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Courts until 2003 where he retired. He was an active member of Dallas County Sheriff J.E. “Bill” Decker Deputy Association; He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mesquite.Married his wife, Wynelle Ivey on September 25, 1962. They were married for 53 years.Had three children, 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was awarded the following: Army of Occupation Medal Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal World, War II Victory Medal Dallas Co Sheriffs Dept., Deputy Sheriff, 1958-1989, Dallas Co Sheriffs Dept.: Bailiff, 1989-2003, Dallas Co Sheriff J.E.
