James Alvin Chambers of Mesquite, TX, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 of Parkinson’s at the age of 80. James was born in Dallas, Texas on July 22, 1936. He served in the United States Army as a Specialist 3rd Class where he was a tank driver from September, 1955 through June 1957 and spent time in Germany.James worked as a Photo Engraver for Blanks Engraving for 30 years until his position was eliminated by the technology age – computers.He played softball until the age of 70 and loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. James is survived by his wife of 13 years Mildred Chambers who lovingly cared for him. •He is also survived by his 3 daughters and step son: • Debbie Plouffe and Jeff, • Kathy Glenn and David • Traci Langle and Kenneth Laminack • James Dowdy • His 11 grandchildren: o Jason Schleter & Joshua Schleter, o Mark Glenn, Matthew Glenn, Michael Glenn, Stephanie Cobb and husband Josh, o Amber Jackson, o Ashley Norris and husband Ryan, o Taylor Langle o Hailey Chambers o Ray Dowdy • His 6 Great-Grandchildren: oCorey Jackson and Lexie Jackson, o Addison Norris, o Makaya and Tyson Cobb o Tess Glenn. • James is survived by his sisters, Lois Ann Stovall, Marie Bodine, Linda Chambers • James is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lloyd and Mabel Chambers along with his siblings, Daniel Chambers, David Chambers, Lloyd (Bubba) Chambers, Jr., Peggy Calhoun, Billie Lawrence, Shirley Chambers and Brenda Redman.
