James William Bird

Jim W. Bird, age 96, was born in Cookville, TX on September 2, 1922 and passed away on June 12, 2019. Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris Bird; his father, Walter Lewis Bird; his mother, Willie Ola Curry; and sister, Ruby Carpenter. Jim proudly served his country as a member of the US Coast Guard in World War II from 1942-1945. Jim is survived by his daughter, Randa Cornelius and husband Dean of Mesquite, TX; son, Dennis Bird and wife Barbara of Waco, TX; grandchildren: Bryan Bird of Bedford, TX,Deanna and husband Josh Smith of San Antonio, TX, Angela and husband Jason of Huntsville, TX, Stacie Cornelius of Dallas, TX, Amy Cornelius and fianc Matthew Carstarphen of Mesquite, TX, and great grandchildren: Chloe and Riley Bird, Ellie and Lyla Smith, and Audrey, Jillian, and Madeleine Koranek.
