ASHWOOD, James J., age 74 of Cumby, TX, born, December 21, 1929, passed away October 3, 2004. Preceded in death by parents, Wallace Landrum Ashwood & Minnie Bell Ashwood; brothers, Walter S. & Raymond Ashwood; sisters, Pairlee Middleton, Leona Landrum McMillen; son, Raymond Ashwood; great grandson, Landrum Strait Ashwood. Survived by brother, Wallace J. Ashwood; sister, Maggie & husband, Ronnie Hightower of Houston; son, Lanny Ashwood & wife, Becky of Mesquite; daughter, Jackie Congleton of Kaufman; son, Mark Ashwood & wife, Janett of Kaufman; son, David Ashwood & wife, Connie of Forney; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & friends. Services will be 11:00AM Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Don Ivey officiating. Interment will be in Pine Forest Cemetery, Pine Forest, TX. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7:00PM - 9:00PM.
