DOYAL, Jackie Paul, 63, of Mesquite, born November 13, 1941 at Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX., went to be with our Lord on September 25, 2005, after a three year challenge with lung cancer. Jackie was a devoted husband to his wife of 33 years, Janet A. Doyal and a wonderful father to his beloved daughter, Juli Denyse Doyal. Other survivors include mother-in-law, Frances Woodard; sisters & brothers-in-law, Doris & Andy Foster, Janet & Pee Wee Taylor, Linda Lane, Diane & Grayson Gwyn; nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by father, Howard Doyal; mother, Anna Lane, brother, Larry Lane; father-in-law, T. O. Woodard. Jackie served in the U. S. Navy for five years. He received a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Business from Abilene Christian College.He retired from the Dallas Police Department after 35 years of dedicated service. Pallbearers are Larry Allen, Allan Layne II, Mickey McFerrin, Mark Paghi, Jack Perritt, Mark Wammack, Cy Weich and George Wiley.Honorary pallbearers are Rene Dominquez, Blake Farrell, Alan Foster, Rick Holder, Jimmy Hollis, Mark Huffman, Brian Schupp and Rita James. Visitation from 6:00PM - 8:00PM Tuesday September 27, 2005 at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be 1:00PM Wednesday September 28, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Mesquite, 127 Kimbrough St. & Beltline Rd., with Rev. Denny Burris officiating. Music provided by Sergeant Paul Stanford and DPD choir members. Interment will follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, Mesquite. Memorials may be made to the DPD Assist the Officer Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
