Irene Penn Wilcox

WILCOX, Irene Penn of Mesquite born January 20, 1927 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, passed away January 6, 2013.She will be laid to rest on Monday January 14, 2013 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arlington, Texas along with her husband, Jack Wilcox, Sr.They were married for 62 years, had four sons, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She enjoyed painting, music, cooking, baseball, ceramics and spending time with her family.Irene was the most fulfilled when serving others whether making sure everyone had a hot roll on their plate or serving the prison ministry.She was compassionate, giving and had an unwavering faith in God. Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, Preston Penn and Harold Mervyn Penn; sister, Clara Juanice Penn; husband, Jack Wilcox, Sr.; sons, Robin Wilcox and Jackie Wilcox. Irene is survived by sons, Danny Wilcox and Tony Wilcox; grandchildren, Cami Wilcox Torberson, Lacee Wilcox Chapman, Brent Wilcox, Taylor Wilcox, Noah Wilcox, Luke Wilcox and Marco Wilcox; great grandchildren, Harley Torberson, Bergen Torberson and Riley Wilcox; sister, Barbara Jean McPike; daughters-in-law, Linda Wilcox, Wendy Wilcox and Claire Wilcox; other family members, Christie Wilcox, JC Torberson and Justin Chapman. Service will be 12:00Noon Thursday January 10, 2013 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX.Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday one hour prior to service from 11:00AM " 12:00Noon.
