Howard Edwin Escue

July 22, 1935 — March 6, 2020

Howard Edwin Escue age 84, of Mesquite, TX, passed away March 6, 2020, at his home. He was born July 22, 1935 in Waxahachie, TX to Howard Escue and Mildred Cornelius Escue. Howard served his country in the US Army in Korea from 1958 to 1960, he continued in the Active Reserve from 1960 to 1962 and remained on Inactive Reserve from 1962 to 1964. He married Loretta Ford on February 14, 1962 in Arlington, TX. Howard was a car salesman for almost his entire life. After a short time as a Firefighter he became his own boss and started out with Howard's Truck Sales, then used car lots and wholesaling. He was buying cars even from his hospital bed a few days ago. It truly made him happy. His sons went into the car business due to him and his son Kyle assisted until his passing. He loved the show Gunsmoke, Westerns, and watching Baseball and Football as well as reading the newspaper daily. He adored his grandchildren and later Jace, his great-grandson. PawPaw, as he was affectionately known, always had ice cream cups waiting at the house until he came to visit so they could share. He was very proud of all of his children and grandchildren. Known by his family as Edwin, he and Loretta had just celebrated 58 years of marriage on February 14. It was a very blessed life. His wife, children, and son in law never left his side at the hospital as well as when he went home. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters JoAnn and Patsy; and brother Ray Mack.
