Tense (Hortense) Chapman Pritchett, a beautiful spirit, has gone to her promised reward with our Lord. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ferrell Ray Pritchett of Forney, two daughters, Susan Noecker of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kathy Graham of Houston, Texas and a son, Ray Pritchett of Mesquite, Texas. She has ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Michigan. Mrs. Pritchett worked all her life as a wife, mother, and homemaker. In the 1960’s she worked briefly as a licensed beautician and for Butterick Pattern Company. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed cooking large meals for all holidays. She was a member of the Church of Christ for 35 years. Mrs. Pritchett was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May 2014 and fought her battle, bravely, for sixteen months. September is the month for Ovarian Cancer Awareness, and it is symbolized by the ribbon color teal. Ovarian cancer causes more deaths than any other female reproductive cancer. The five-year survival rate for stage III ovarian cancer is 39% and these statistics have not changed in thirty years. If you would like to honor her brave battle and recognize Ovarian Cancer Awareness, please wear teal in some form in Mrs. Tense Pritchett’s memory.
