Holly Melofsky (née Orndorff), 52, passed away on February 6, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.
Born on December 25, 1972, in El Paso, Texas, Holly dedicated her life to caring for others. She pursued her passion for nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree on December 13, 1997. Shortly thereafter, she received her license to practice professional nursing in Texas on January 21, 1998.
Holly began her career at Denton Regional Hospital, where she specialized in cardiac rehabilitation care. Her dedication and expertise led her to the UT Southwestern Outpatient Surgery Center, where she worked as a sedation nurse for the past 18 years. Her commitment to patient care and her compassionate nature left a lasting impact on colleagues and those she cared for.
Beyond her profession, Holly had a deep love for health and exercise. She practiced martial arts for many years earning a third degree black belt in Taekwondo. Holly also enjoyed weight lifting and inspired others to pursue good nutrition and health habits. Holly dreamed of traveling and recently enjoyed long overdue trips to Japan and Italy. Most of all, Holly loved soaking up sunshine poolside with her beloved companion, Winston.
Holly is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her daughter, Jenna; her parents, Seth and Jo; her sister, Summer; and brothers-in-law, Fabio and Jason. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews Alexia, Christian, Harper, and Miles. She was predeceased by her cherished grandmother Helen Orndorff and grandparents Francisco "Kirby" and Ruth "Stormy" Kirby-Smith.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at The Story, located at 410 S Paschall Rd, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182.
Holly's free spirit and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
