Herbert Peter Hangen

Herbert Peter Hangen went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2009 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Herb was born on December 23, 1938 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to Jacob and Ida Hangen.He is survived by his wife Lorrene (Lori) and his son Robert Hangen and wife Hope, grandchildren; Elizabeth, Garrett, Samuel and William Hangen and his son James Hangen, grandchildren; Jacob and Daniel Hangen. He is further survived by sister-in-law Linda Frey and her husband Ron. He is predeceased by his parents. Herb graduated from Boy's Tech in Milwaukee, WI in 1956; married his wife in 1963. He spent his entire career as a support for dentists. First as a dental supply salesman, then dental supply store manager and finally as manager for the Baylor College of Dentistry in purchasing, shipping and receiving department. His love for the Lord led him to teaching various men's classes; most recently at Oates Drive Baptist Church. Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Oates Drive Baptist Church, 2805 Oates Drive, Mesquite, Texas 75150. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oates Drive Baptist Church Missions Fund.
