Bobby Joe Roberson "Herb" as he was know to all. Born August 3, 1930 and went home to be with our Lord on October 24, 2016 Wife of 58 yearsBeth Roberson Preceded in death by, Parents Oba and Faye Roberson, brother Harold Roberson, sister Joan Richmond, sister Evelyn Roberson and Grandson Zach Roberson Survived by his sister Peggy Newton Survived by children J R Roberson and wife Bobbie, Shorty Roberson and wife Lesa Grand children Jon, Leslie, Lauren, Taylor and Lindsey Great grand children: Hannah, Murphy, Brady, Luca, Lakelyn Our Dad served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 in Europe. He was better known in our neighborhood as Coach Roberson he coached football, baseball and basketball, all sports all the time. He coached football in Mesquite for about 15 years. Then he began to sponsor the North Mesquite Rodeo Team for another 8 years. Dad was always helping kids. He made a difference in so many kids lives, especially ours. Then there were grand kids, dad said being a grandpa was the best job he ever had! Dad never missed a game when a grand kid was playing and the whole team knew who Grandpa was, that was special for all of us. Family has always been the most important thing to him. We will miss you Dad, but your legacy of love and faith in our Lord will go on for generations to come.
