Henley Houston (Buddy) Bennett

Henley(Buddy) Bennett, 96, passed away on December 31, 2022, in Dallas, TX. He was born on March 27, 1926 in Lamesa, TX, to Thomas Bennett and Ada Bennett. Buddy served in the Navy from 1943 - 1946. Buddy is survived by Mary Bennett, wife, of Garland Texas. He has 8 children, Gary Bennett (wife, Elizabeth Bennett), Sherri Muir ( husband, Rob Muir), Fred Bennett (wife Linda Bennett), Debra Burns (husband, Len Burns), Jimmy Abbott (wife, Michele Abbott), Anita McBride, Wanda (Joy) O'Conner (husband, Marko O'Conner), Ruth Mishler (husband, James Mishler), James Dinwiddie. Buddy has 20 grandchildren, Kevin Bennett, Kyle Bennett, Daniel Bennett, Clarissa Galloway, Chris Maldonado, Brian Bennett, Crystal Clark, Holly Briggs, Frances Cole, Johnpaul Peltier, Trever Abbott, Devan Abbott, Heather Hogan, Clinton McBride, Casie Hogan, Michael O'Conner, Michael Raulston, Codi Raulston, Mary Raulston, Bandon Dinwiddie and a host of several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Preceding Buddy in in death were Thomas Bennett - father, Ada Bennett - mother, and Sheri Muir - daughter. Buddy was best known for his love of his family and friends and being around children. He was a school crossing guard and mentor at Montclair Elementary School in Garland for several years. He loved baseball and football, playing it and later always attending sporting events of his kids, grandkids and the kids at Montclair Elementary School. The service for Mr Henley Bennett will be held on Tuesday, at 10:45 AM at Oates Drive Baptist. Visitation: Tuesday, at 10:00 AM at Oates Drive Baptist. Burial: Tuesday, at 2:15 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Oates Drive Baptist Church
