Harvey W. Rice was born on June 19, 1943 and passed away March 2, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Lee Rice and Una Kate Rice; his brother Jesse Rice; and his son Colonel Darron L. Wright (survived by Wendy Wright). Harvey is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathryn Rice; his children: Danny Rice and wife Sandy, Larron Wright and wife Tonya, Michelle Wentz and husband Leo, Renee Rice, and Marvin Rice; his grandchildren: Lori, David, Thomas, and Marcus Rice; Landon Wright and wife Taryn, Zachary Wentz, Heather Lyman and husband Ryan, Nicole Wright, Dillon Wright, Chloe Wright, Lincoln Wentz, Kyle Wright, Eric Wentz and wife Tonya, and Miranda Emery; his great grandchildren: Hannah Lyman, Lydia Lyman, Haven Baker, and Phoenix Emery; his sisters: Linda Rice, Robbie Thornton and husband Buck, Joyce Brackett and husband Bobby, and Marcia Tharp; and numerous nieces and nephews. Harvey proudly served the Dallas County Constables Office, Precinct 2 as Deputy Constable for 21 years 2.5 months retiring 12/31/2003. Prior employment was with the Balch Springs Police Department and Dallas County Police Department. Harvey was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving as a military policeman. He, along with wife Kathryn, were dedicated members of the Mesquite Republican Club as well as North Texas "Beat the Heat" program whereby they traveled with his race car to various schools and other events promoting the importance of staying in school and saying "No" to drugs. Harvey and Kathryn were/are dedicated members of Macedonia Baptist Church, who they love dearly, considering them their family in Christ. He was a loving husband, dad, and friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all.
