HARRIS, Grady L. of Mesquite, born November 26, 1913, passed away March 23, 2007. Preceded in death by wife, Lillie Harris. Survived by son, Grady Harris, Jr. & wife, Phyllis; daughter, Pattie Phillips & husband, Douglas; son, John David Harris & wife, Diane; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Service will be 2:00PM Tuesday March 27, 2007 at New Hope Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral Monday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Grady Lee Harris (Pop) was born on November 26, 1913 to Robert Lee and Maggie Ada (Blair) Harris in Midlothian, TX.He was the youngest of three.His brothers were Marvin and Tracy Harris.He married Lillie (Magby) Harris on February 9, 1936.The first of 3 children, Grady Lee, Jr. was born on July 30, 1944.The second child Pattie Jean was born September 30, 1953. The third child John David was born July 14, 1957. After serving in the army, he went to work at Chance Vault.He then worked at the Adolphus Hotel.For a small time he worked at the Anatole Hotel but returned and finished his career at the Adolphus Hotel retiring at 86 years of age after approximately 44 years of service. His major career was as an electrician. He moved to Mesquite in 1955 and lived at the family residence until his time of death. Grady Jr is married to Phyllis and they have three children: Grady Lee Harris, III Warren who is married to Lisa and they have two children Tayler and Alex. Wendy who is married to Jesse Dye and they have four children, Josh, Holly, Delanie, and Dakota. Pattie is married to Doug Phillips and they have 3 children: Kellie who has 1 child, Payten. Kandice who has 2 children, Ashton and McKynlee. Krystal David is married to Diane and they have 3 children: John David, Jr who is married to Sabrina and they have 2 children Mason and Collin. Chelci Chrisi Pops family tree will continue to grow and prosper for years and years to come.Stories will be handed down of his laughter and love for people and his family.He will be terribly missed but great is his reward because he is now walking on the golden streets of glory and reunited with his wife and other loved ones that have gone to heaven before him.
