Gloria Janell Clark, age 80, of Garland, Texas, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 28, 2020. She was born May 27, 1940 in Austin, TX to John Cleburne Medford and Emily Charlotte Goldstein Medford.
Gloria led a fulfilled life with her husband of 59 years, David Kenneth Clark, and being a very loving mom and grandmother. She would always say that God put her on this earth to be a grandma. She was an avid reader and loved crocheting gifts for family and friends. Nothing made her happier than giving gifts of any kind. She had the biggest heart in the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nora Vaughn; brother, H.R. Medford; sister, Jewel Dean; sister-in-law, Phyllis Medford; brother-in-law, E.L. West; and granddaughter, Charity Clark.
She is survived by her husband, David Kenneth Clark; sons, David Clark and wife Mary Jayne and John Wesley Clark; daughter, Desiree Tarter and husband Terry; grandchildren, Jared Clark and wife Coby, Mindy Clark, Amber Boykin and husband Chris, Amanda Tarter and Zachary Tarter; great-grandchildren, River Fite, Elizabeth Mooring, Ashton Clark, Noah Boykin, and Samantha Clark; brother, Johnny Medford; brothers-in-law, Wesley Clark and wife Barbara, Herb Clark and Mike Smith; sister-in-law, Barbara Jean West; nieces, Darla Davis and Sharon Palmer; nephew, Elijah Eugene West; and a host of friends, among her dearest being Bettye, Anne and Ella, and extended family that she loved dearly.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Dave Mills officiating. Masks will be required inside the funeral home and we will be practicing social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research.
