Glenda Perry

August 21, 1954 — February 7, 2025

Glenda Nell Perry, age 70, of Rowlett, Texas passed away Friday morning, February 7, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer diagnosed in March, 2024.

Glenda was a ray of sunshine in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by her.

Glenda is preceded in death by mother, Vera Ola Johnson; and father, Euil William Johnson.

Glenda is survived by sister, Barbara Melton; niece, Amy Melton; aunt, Martha Peters. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

Glenda spent over 50 years working in various administrative roles. Most recently Glenda worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Richardson as an executive assistant, retiring in 2023. Glenda's work was an integral part of her life and enjoyment.

Glenda especially enjoyed spending time with her sister watching favorite TV shows, cooking, and shopping. Glenda was a devoted friend and she had a special way of making each one of her friends feel as though they were her only friend. Glenda was an adventurer at heart and loved to travel and explore new places. Glenda found her highest calling in her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Glenda's commitment to serve others before herself permeated her faith, family and work. Whether working extra time when needed to help others, providing transportation, providing meals or simply lending an ear, Glenda always placed the needs of others before her own. Glenda's kindness, faith and service before herself touched the lives of everyone she met.

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
