Loraine was initially raised in the Baptist church but soon switched her membership to St. Johns United Methodist Church where she met the love of her life, Harry Williams. She eloped to marry Harry at the tender age of 16 on February 12, 1938 and everyone said it would never work! Years later Harry and Loraine changed their membership to White Rock United Methodist Church. She raised her four children the old fashioned way, always having a meal ready when they came home from school for lunch and then having dinner ready where everyone sat at the table together. She would work late into the night to make sure she had all the washing and cleaning done. There were times she stayed up all night always finding something else to do. Loraine was a very caring and also funny, sweet lady. When Harry brought home a pool table for the kids to play and put it in the living room, she moved all the furniture into the bedroom to prove a point! Her house was the one where all the neighborhood children gathered and she had a water jug made up each day and each child had a tin cup with their name on it and many good times were had by all. She always put everyone else first and it was so appreciated. She was thrilled when each of her children married and especially when her grandchildren and great grandchildren were born. She loved the times when everyone could get together. The family would like to thank the special people of Odyssey Hospice, Lynn Norton, Brenda Thompson, Eden Summers, Elisha Ellis and Chaplin Gene Griffin. They were truly a Godsend. Service will be 2:00PM Thursday April 21, 2011 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6PM " 8PM.
