Gil Jesse Valencia departed this life on April 16, 2013. He is preceded in death by father Jesse Valencia and mother Elisa Valencia. He is survived by his son, Victor Jesse Valencia as well as his two brothers Arturo and David Valencia, and a list of friends that could fill a novel. Gil created a special bond with almost every person he met however, I do not believe that he had created a more special friendship than the one had with his best friends Irene Ramirez and Doug (Dougie Fresh) Nicholson. Gil was a simple man who enjoyed simple pleasures. A nice round of golf every now and then, a cool Saturday night with shrimp on the grill, some good music and a friend to share the night with. Gil was born in Jacksonville, FL on October 3, 1960. However, he spent 50 of his 52 years in Dallas, certifying him as a true Dallasite and a proud Texan. Gil earned his master plumbers license in 1985 and to this day remains the youngest person to have ever received the license in the State of Texas on the first try. Gil was a compassionate person who would give the shirt off his back and the last penny in his pocket to anyone who needed it. He always had a story to share and a joke to tell and he will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved him. Gil will be forever remembered for his kindness, humor, candor, charisma and for the light and laughter he brought to all he encountered. Visitation will be April 19 from 5-7pm, Rosary at 6. Service will be April 20 at 10am. Both the visitation and service will be held at New Hope Funeral Hope.
