Geraldine went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 after a long battle with Parkinson's. She was born in Dallas on March 3, 1928 to Eula Ezell and Amel Alonso Jones.She grew up in the Oak Cliff area and graduated from Crozier Tech in 1945. She married her husband of 60 years, Millard Thompson, on May 30, 1947 and was a loving wife, mother, and MeMaw.Not only was she a wonderful mother, but a successful business woman who in 1971 established herself throughout Dallas County as"The Cookie Lady" selling and delivering cookies to day care centers and churches. She built the business to what is today Sunbeam Foods, Inc. Her huge smile greeted everyone she met.She was a member of the Garland Sam's and loved to travel and go RVing. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Millard, and daughters Pam Armstrong, husband Don; Barbie Kraig, husband Richard; Melinda Weston, and husband David. Survived by one son, Doug Thompson, and partner David Bayers.She has 6 grandchildren, 3 great-granddaughters. Services will be held at 1 pm Friday June 1, Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church 9810 LaPrada Dr. Dallas, Texas 75228. Family will recieve friends from 6 pm to 8 pm, Thursday May 31 at New Hope Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation and/or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
