Geraldine Brown O’Neal Funeral Date:February 3, 2017 Obituary: Geraldine Brown O’Neal, age 86, of Forney, TX, passed away on January 30, 2017.She was born in Warren, AR, on May 4, 1930 to the late John Alexander Brown, Sr., and Lucy Tooke Brown.She graduated from Warren High School in 1948 and began working at Appleton’s Drug Store in Warren.She married James Edward O’Neal on June 15, 1952. Geraldine worked as a public school secretary in the Warren school district for many years.In 1980, she and her husband James moved to East Camden, where James was employed at East Camden & Highland Railroad as a railroad comptroller.They were members of the First United Methodist Church in Camden, AR.James passed away in 2008, and Geraldine moved to Texas in 2014 to be closer to her daughter Melissa.Geraldine was most recently a member of the First United Methodist Church in Forney. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Lucy Brown, her husband James, and brother John Alexander Brown, Jr.She is survived by her daughter Rebecca O’Neal Warnock and husband Jim of Alma, AR, her daughter Melissa O’Neal McElhannon of Forney, TX; three granddaughters, Christen Elizabeth Warnock of Conway, AR, Anna Catherine Warnock Lucas and husband Taylor of Cookville, TN, and Allison Ryan McElhannon Gaines and husband Matthew of Waxahachie, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 10-11am, at the First United Methodist Church in Forney under the direction of New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, TX. Funeral service will follow at 11am with Rev. Chris Allen officiating, and special music by the Chancel Choir. Active pallbearers will be Sam Criswell, Matthew Gaines, Jon Lannom, Martin Rodriguez, CM Strawn, and Jim Warnock.Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Blizzard.Graveside services will be held in Warren, AR, on Saturday, February 4, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Harrison officiating, and interment will be at Oakland Cemetery, Warren, AR under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home in conjunction with New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, TX. In keeping with Geraldine’s wishes, memorials, if desired, may be made to the Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church, Forney, TX.
