Jerry was not only a father to his children, he was their best friend. He was his sister Terry’s tormentor, idol, friend, and loving brother who was always there when she needed him. He meant the world to his wife Sarah and helped her keep her sanity many times. He was her best buddy, best friend, and husband. He loved seeing her come out of her shell and loved the woman she became. He gave her strength and let her be independent. He helped her dream, and gave her the courage to follow those dreams. Through understanding and compassion, Jerry was a mentor to those who reached out.He always listened, never pried and always gave experienced advice without judgement. His humor and positive outlook lifted our spirits more times that we can count. He was reliable, always willing to lend a hand, crack a joke, drink a beer and live life to the fullest. He loved music and would share that with others by playing his guitar and singing his favorite songs to the group. He saw two world fairs, a monkey race, and rode the wind on his burnt orange spider. He will be dearly missed by so many whose lives he touched. We treasure our memories and all the laughs we shared together. We are better people for having loved and lived with him.We find comfort in knowing the world is a better place because of the contributions of Gerald Yudovitz.
