Gerald Wayne Knight, 64, of Forney, passed away March 19, 2011 after a 3-year battle with lung cancer. Gerald was born in Dallas, Texas to Hilman Knight and Dorothy Foster. He dedicated his entire career to Freeman Companies, working as a commercial sign painter. A humble lifestyle resulted in early retirement, and a host of colorful monikers in the name of frugality all fitting. He enjoyed life, particularly during his sunset years, and was the life of the party. He was always willing to dispense advice, and share his knowledge; hed done it all. For all of these reasons, he will be dearly missed. Gerald is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Foster, and step-father, Elijah Foster. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Knight, daughter Angela Senne and husband Kevin, son Richard Knight and wife Anita, father Hilman Knight and wife Hazel, sister Karen Lorang and husband Richard, brother Ricky Knight and wife Kay, and grandchildren Emerson and Cooper Senne, and Haley Jenniges and Victoria Talamantez. He is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, and his four-legged best buddy, Bailey. A memorial service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Geralds name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
