George Kurien was born in Edayaranmula, Kerala, India on August 23, 1941 to George Eipe and Saramma George. He passed away on July 28, 2024

He was a graduate of Krist Raj Model High School, Kollam, Kerala, India, class of 1957. After graduating from Krist Raj High School, he attended Fatima Mata National College to study Physics and Mathematics. He completed bachelor's degree in both fields in 1962. He then moved on to St. Alberts College where he completed his study in Telecommunications in 1966.

While travelling to Gudalur on September 27, 1972, George met Aleyamma Varghese. After a brief courtship, the two married on October 2, 1972 at the St Thomas CSI Church Kollam. After several years of marriage, George and Aleyamma migrated to America and started a new life in Buffalo, New York.

George was interested in furthering his education and made the decision to enroll at Erie Community College to study Electrical Technology. In 1978, he earned his Associates degree in Electrical Technology.

Toward the end of 1978, George and Aleyamma moved to Houston, Texas.

From 1978 to 1983, George was employed as an Electronic Technician and Assistant Engineer where he worked for Geosource Inc, Texas Electronic Instruments, and Process Systems Inc. He was responsible for troubleshooting a wide variety of digital and analog circuitry and worked as well in computer manufacturing. Within these same 5 years, George and Aleyamma had their first son Aljo Kurien on August 12, 1978 and their second son Alvin Kurien on February 14, 1980.

In 1983, while working for Process Systems Inc. in Houston, George decided to enroll at San Jacinto College to study Instrumentation Technology.

In 1984, George and Aleyamma decided to move to Garland, Texas with their children where George decided to take computer courses at Richland College. As a young adult, George always had an interest in airplanes and after completing course work at Richland College in May 1985, he looked for employment with American Airlines.

In April 1986, George was employed with American Airlines, working at DFW Airport. From 1986 to 1993 he continued to work with American Airlines while completing Associate Degrees and Certification Courses in Aeronautical Technology, Aviation Maintenance and Avionics. In August 1993, the Kurien

family moved to Fort Worth, Texas as George continued his work with American Airlines at Alliance Airport as an Aircraft Mechanic up until his retirement in April 2013.

George was interested in machine repair work, singing in the choir and providing for his family.

He is preceded in death by his father (George Eipe), mother (Saramma George) and brother (George Eapen). He leaves to cherish his memory, his sister Annie Mathew and his wife of 52 years , Aleyamma Kurian along with his two sons, Aljo Kurien and Alvin Kurien, a host of loving relatives, church friends and coworkers.
