Gene Veal

April 11, 1927 — October 25, 2011

Gene Veal, known as J.D. and Papa to his loved ones went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2011. He was born April 11 1927 in Tulsa Oklahoma. He grew up in Dallas TX, the youngest of 13 children. He is a long term resident of Forney TX and a veteran of the U.S. Army. J.D. is survived by his sweetheart of 66 years, Tully Veal. He will be forever remembered by his five wonderful children, Linda Alexander, Rodger Veal, Robert Veal, Danice Mcshan, and Lisa Tousa, his treasured grandchildren Larry Bishop, Darrell Bishop, Rodger Veal II, Melina Cozby, Lauren Tousa, Ty Tousa, Olivia Tousa, Isabella Tousa, Sophia Tousa, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren Colton Cozby and Kendall Cozby, along with countless other friends blessed to have known him. J.D. will forever be known as our beloved Papa that loved to praise his heavenly father, loved to travel around the world, and loved being with his family. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, October 29 2011 at 10am at New Hope Funeral Homes, 500 East Hwy 80, Sunnyvale TX 75182. You are invited to write a message to the family at www.newhopefh.com and view photos of this memorable soul. The family requests a donation to Feed the Children in lieu of flowers. Everyone that knew him saw his love and passion for life. He had a zeal for life and greeted each day with a Christian perspective and heart. Anyone that met him knew about his last vacation and his next vacation. There was not a day that would go by he wasnt planning a vacation, in fact he would start planning the next trip in the middle of his current one. He was never at a loss for words when bragging about his family to complete strangers. He would glow when he spoke of his family, and tell any unwilling stranger about his wife, kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his family greatly, but we celebrate and praise his everlasting life in Heaven with his Lord and Savior whom he worshipped on a daily basis.
