Gene Leon Lenk

Gene Leon Lenk was born September 2, 1939. He died suddenly at home October 4, 2017 after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Geneva Lenk, and his brother Frank Lenk Jr. Gene was raised in Houston where he attended Reagan High School and the University of Houston. After college he served in the Marine reserves. In 1970 he married the love of his life, Barbara, and they were married for 47 years. Gene retired from Schepps Dairy (now Dean Foods) in 2004 where he worked in Information Technology for 25 years. After retirement he and Barbara enjoyed traveling with the senior adults of the Forney First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, two sons Kevin Gene and Mark Jason (Michelle), two grandchildren Emily Ashlynn and Mason Christopher, one step grandson Jacob Wells, sister-in-law Betty Brunasso (Len). He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 6, at 11 am at the First Baptist Church in Forney, Jerry Griffin officiating.
