HANEY, JR., Gene Carl of Mesquite, born June 29, 1952, in Mobile, Alabama to Katherine and Gene Carl Haney, passed away February 4, 2011. Survived by wife of 22 years, Brenda Haney; daughter, Denise Dinkel and son-in-law Dan Dinkel of Mesquite TX; step-son, Max Hackler and wife Jenny Hackler of Sunnyvale, TX; step-daughter, Deanna Adams and husband Richard Adams of Terrell, TX, and step-son, Scott Hackler of Palestine, TX; 9 grandchildren, Nikki Spinhirne, Nathan Lane, Aaron Spinhirne, Alec Spinhirne, Sarah Dinkel, Natalie Dinkel, Erin Dinkel, Jordan Hackler and Trevor Hackler; 2 great-grand children, Kensley and Kelsey Lane; father, Gene Carl Haney, of Garland, TX; sisters, Donna McAnally, Carol Haney, Louise Murphy, Helen Herring, Evelyn Green; brothers, Laslie Haney, Leon Haney, and Robert Haney; numerous nieces and nephews and a treasure of dear friends and church family. Carl served in the Army, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from the City of Dallas as an Electrical inspector after 28 years, and worked the past 4 years as an Electrical Inspector for the City of Garland. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting with family, and most of all riding his motorcycle. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 11, 2011 at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX. Burial will be held at DFW National Cemetery at 1:45pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 6:00 " 8:00 P.M.
