Gena Lucille McCollum Floyd, age 90,a long resident of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior, January 15, 2006. Gena Lucille was born on June 22, 1915 in Naples, Texas.She married Charles Olen Floyd on February 1, 1936 and they celebrated fifty exciting years together. She reared a wonderful family of whom she was very proud.She instilled in her family a hard work ethic, a strong sense of family and high morals and ethical standards. She was Worthy Matron of the Arema Eastern Star.She retired from Lone Star Gas in 1973. Preceding her in death were brothers W. G. McCollum and Robert Lee McCollum and her husband Charles Olen Floyd. She is survived by sister Edith (Polly) McCollum Little, her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Barbara Floyd, daughter and son-in-law,Linda Carolyn and Billy Matt White. Granddaughters: Sheryl Denise Floyd Cathey, Kristi Lynn White King, Karla Lea White Hodge, Gena Kay White Cox, Sharla Denita Floyd Brown. Great Grandsons: Joshua Chace Cathey, Cody Matthew Crockett, Kade Lanon King, Steven Hodge.Great Granddaughters: Kayli Morgan Cox, Laura Denise Brown, Meagan Lyn Cox, Heather Kathleen Brown, Heath Leighton King, Amber Hodge. Services will be Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel.The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
