Gary William Austin

Gary Austin passed away June 5 2023. Surrounded by his loving family.  Gary was born on June 7, 1938 in Morning Sun, Iowa to Lloyd and Helen Austin.
Gary married Linda  Nelson on June 28, 1964 in Burlington, Iowa. They had three children David Austin, Brad Austin, and Shelly Garcia.  

Gary joined the army in 1957 after graduating high school and went to Rochefort , France. Gary moved to Texas in 1982.  He worked as welder. He loved his family  and babysat his grandkids all the time. He loved to travel. Gary had been to most of the United States including Hawaii and Alaska. He visited 11 countries in Europe and 5 in the Caribbean. He took many trips to Canada on a yearly fishing trip. He also loved to go to Minnesota to see his favorite NFL team the Vikings. He loved working in the yard planting flowers and other yard duties.  

Gary is survived by his Son, Brad Austin and Daughter, Shelly Garcia  and Son in law Emilio Garcia of Forney Texas .  He had four grandchildren Michael Garcia, Jayden Garcia,Jacob Garcia, Austin Garcia. Sister, Patricia Gatlin of Sunnyvale, Texas .  He  had several nieces and nephews he loved very much. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Helen Austin, wife, Linda Austin and son, David Austin, and Grandson, Garrett Garcia.
