Fred McGowan

Fred J. McGowan passed away December 1, 2011. He was born March 17, 1935, in Sentinel, Oklahoma, the only child of Joe and Bertha McGowan. He proudly served the U.S. Army being stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, for most of his enlistment. Until his retirement in 2000 he worked as a map draftsman in the oil and gas industry. He is a Past Master and 50 year member of the Metropolitan Masonic Lodge. He was a long time member of Eastridge Park Christian Church where he served on the Board and was a founding member of the Discovery Sunday Class. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris; daughter and son-in-law Tami and Erik Swanson of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Cassandra McGowan of McKinney; grandsons, Sean and Seth McGowan of McKinney; sister-in-law, Jean Conner of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Funeral services will be at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, on Saturday December 3, 2011, at 2:00PM with a private burial. Donations may be made to the building fund, Eastridge Park Christian Church, 2701 Town East Blvd., Mesquite, TX. 75150.
