Floyd Lee Slocum, Jr., of Terrell, Texas, passed away on February 11,2025, at the age of 70. Floyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was known for his warm heart, sense of humor, and his love for the outdoors. Floyd especially loved fishing and enjoyed telling tall tales of the fish that got away.
Floyd was preceded in death by parents, Floyd Slocum, Sr and Julia Slocum; and brother, Gerald Slocum.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; sons, Justin Slocum, Floyd Lee Slocum III, Ricky Slocum, and Joshua Marsh; daughters, Megan Beighey and Tiffany Pebbler; step-sons, Martin Arredondo and Pete Ruiz; step-daughters, Melinda Arrendondo, Marilyn Ruiz, and Ruby Ruiz; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Randy Slocum; and sister, Sheila Slocum.
Floyd's presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 pm at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas.
A memorial service for Floyd Slocum will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Long Creek Baptist Church, 501 Long Creek Drive, in Sunnyvale, Texas.
