EstaLee Brumit Rogers,78, passed away on June 1, 2012 with her family by her side in Dallas, Texas. Esta was born in Point, Texas on July 16, 1933 to parents, Edgar and Ethel Brumit. Esta spent much of her childhood helping on the family farm and riding her horse. She attended school in Point, Texas and enjoyed playing basketball and softball even through her adult years. Ms. Rogers married her husband, Charles Rogers, in 1952 and moved to Mesquite, TX where they raised their two sons, Mike and Phil. As a family they enjoyed spending most weekends camping and fishing at Lake Texoma. The family was active members at Oates Drive Baptist Church. She was a dedicated mother and caring individual. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members including her mother, father and sisters in their time of need. Esta worked many years at the family business, Lakewood Automotive, which opened in 1958. Ms. Rogers believed in honesty and hard work, and in 1996 her shop, Rite Qwik Auto Repair, was given an award for Outstanding Business Standards. Esta enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and spoiled them with the most stylish trends. She loved watching them play sports and was their most faithful fan. Her interest as of late included visiting the local cotton gin every Friday and Saturday night to listen to music and converse with longtime friends. She also welcomed friendly political debates and was actively involved in current events. Ms. Rogers is survived by her sister, Toye Thompson; Brother Ray Brumit; 2 sons and their spouses, Mike and Beth Rogers, Phil and Eva Rogers; 5 grandchildren, Chuck and wife, Lauren, Phillip, Summer, Jessica, Zoey; and 5 great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Savanna, Chelsea, Sara, Parker. She is preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Ethel Brumit; sisters, Jane Lucas and Faye Rankin. A memorial service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 10:00am. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm.
