Emily Van Lehn was born on February 7, 1937 in Albertson, NY, to Stanley & Blanche Osiecki. Passed away on March 6, 2022 in Forney, Texas.
Emily married the love of her life husband, James Van Lehn on May 2, 1959. Together they built a beautiful family including 4 children, Lynda Runnels, Greg Van Lehn, Laurie Sitzmann & Kelly Vega. 6 grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren & 2 Great, great-grandchildren.
Emily was kind to everyone and had a smile that would light up a room. Her positive attitude was contagious. She believed in being fair, to always find the good in people! She loved her family dearly and was a best friend to them all.
She had a passion for sports especially playing softball or soccer into her later years.
As a sports enthusiast you could often find her watching a world cup of her favorite team Manchester United. (She loved that Rooney) She also enjoyed coaching and/or playing softball with her daughters. The majority of the time you would find her on a soccer field. Often walking the sidelines (especially by the goalie box) coaching or cheering on her children, grand-children, great grand-children & even her great, great- grandchildren.
Emily is survived by her husband James. Children; Lynda Runnels & husband Darren, Greg Van Lehn, Laurie Sitzmann & fiance Red, Kelly Vega & husband John. Grandchildren; Tracy Runnels, Tricia Coker, Brandi Van Lehn, Cory Sitzmann & wife Angela, Shayna Van Lehn & Justin, Brandon Van Lehn. Great -Grandchildren; McKenna Rose, Kaitlin, Madison, & Cassidy Ciardo, Jacob & Carlee Mae Coker, Emery & Elaina Sitzmann, Great-Great Grandsons; Konner & Braxton, Brother in law Don Van Lehn & wife JoAnn and numerous friends, nieces & nephews.
Emily is preceded in death by her parents Stanley & Blanche Osiecki, her siblings Winnie, Ed & Stella. Nieces Patti & Lynn.
Visitation will be at New Hope Funeral Home Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 9:00 - 10:00 with service to follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery Wednesday March 30, 2022 @ 1 PM
Memorial donations can be made in Emily's name to Alzheimer's Association or Kidney Foundation or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
