Elnita Wilson, age 85, of Balch Springs, Texas died on October 18, 2024. She was born Elnita Jean Woodruff, the youngest of 8 children, to William Ira Woodruff and Louvenia Ella McKay Woodruff in South Sulphur, Texas on May 12, 1939.
Elnita was retired from the City of Dallas Water Utilities, where she worked for many years. She spent many of her retirement years enjoying card games and activities with her good friends at the local recreation center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Louvenia Woodruff; brothers, William Earl (Bud) Woodruff, Walter Madison Woodruff, and Charles Reid Woodruff; sisters, Iris Ethel Luckey, Edith Laverne Page, and Gladys Mae McBride; and husband, Jack Wilson.
She is survived by her brother, Troyce Len Woodruff; sons, Kenneth Stuart, Ron Wilson, Glen Wilson and wife Tami, David Wilson and wife Frances; daughter, Renee Murfitt; grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson, Adam Wilson, Colleen Wilson, Mandi Wilson, Meghann Webster, Brittany Smith, and Maddi Wilson; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 10 am. Viewing and visitation will precede the service at 9 am on the same day and location.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Wilson, Adam Wilson, Leath Matte, Johnathan Wilson, Rob Welcher, and Drew Webster.
