Elaine Smith

Elaine Smith, age 85, passed away on December 18, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on June 28, 1938 in Waco, Texas to parents Floyd and Almeda Wilkes.

Elaine received a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a master's degree in Computer Science from East Texas State University. She spent most of her professional career at AT&T as an executive administrator and accountant.

Some of Elaine's favorite hobbies included counted cross-stitching and traveling. She created and stitched several of her own designs and was a member of several stitching guilds. As a traveler, she was always ready to go see new places and beautiful scenery.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Barry; parents, Floyd and Almeda Wilkes; sister, Sheila; nephew, Kelly; and grandson, Scott. She is survived by sons, Mark and Brad; daughter, Laura; nephew, Kirby; grandchildren, Matt, Elizabeth and Trevor; and great-grandchildren, Annastasia, Zabella and Kinley.

A graveside service for Elaine will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2024 at New Hope Memorial Gardens located at 500 E. US Hwy 80 in Sunnyvale, Texas.
