Edward Joseph Stock

Edward Joseph Stock, born in August of 1950 in Dallas, TX, passed away June 16, 2020 in Forney, TX at age 69. “Eddie”, as he was known by most, is survived by his wife Kenney Dale (Quinn) Stock of forty-seven years, children Dale Stock of Dallas, Ann Malinaro (and husband Jason) of Aurora, CO, Kelley Hillis of Forney TX, and grandchildren Abigail and Landon Hillis. Eddie, part of a very large family, is also survived by 7 brothers and 3 sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter Raymond Stock and Patricia Madeline (McCabe) Stock, and his two brothers Billy and Jimmy.

Eddie attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School and Bishop Lynch High School, received dual undergraduate degrees in physical education and English and a master’s degree in Education Administration from East Texas State University (now A&M Commerce). He was a beloved educator, mentor, coach, husband, father, and grandfather. For nearly 50 years, “Coach Stock” devoted his life to guiding thousands of children and young adults in the classroom, on the field, and in everything he did. He embodied teamwork, perseverance, honesty, and integrity in all things. Young men and women throughout Texas learned these values through Eddie’s coaching, mentoring and teaching, and in the reflections of his actions. Our Coach is very dearly loved and respected and is greatly missed.

Memorial Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, TX 75228 on Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 at 11am, with Fr. Salvador Guzman as Celebrant. Due to gathering size limitations, please restrict attendance to attendees 21 and over.
