Edra Jean Stuart

Mrs. Jean Davis Stuart went to meet her Lord and Savior Saturday morning on April 7, 2012, at her home in Saltillo, Texas. Mrs. Stuart, born Dec. 20, 1931, is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years Rev. Preston Stuart. She is survived by her sons Michael and Harold of Mesquite, and Craig Stuart of Saltillo; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and brothers Charles and Buddy Davis. Mrs. Stuart, born in Wills Point, TX, was an educator with Mesquite ISD for 30 years before retiring in 1993. Her passion was for her family and she leaves a legacy of lives touched through her work in the Mesquite schools and area churches. She passed away peacefully after a valiant fight against ALS. The family will receive friends in the Chapel at New Hope Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will take place Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church. 3018 N.
