Edna Jane Harmon of Garland went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2009. She was born on September 28, 1933 in Klondike, Texas. After completing high school she went to work for Southwestern Bell where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a drafting engineer. Edna had a sweet, gentle spirit and made sure that those around her felt special and loved. She had a beautiful heart and cared for others selflessly. Her love for her children and grandchildren was demonstrated in every thing she did and they were all so proud to call her momma and memaw. Edna loved life and truly lived it to the fullest. She loved attending her grandchildrens activities, bowling with her special friends, traveling, and cheering for the Rangers and the Mavericks. She was an active member of Saturn Road Church of Christ. Edna was preceded in death by her parents: Tom & Nettie Lee Dodd and brother R. C. Dodd. She leaves behind her children, Vicki Fagala and husband, Terry; Lisa James and husband, Bill; Scott Harmon and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Ryan Fagala and wife, Andie; Ross Fagala, Matthew Harmon, Kaitlan Harmon, Christopher James and wife, Brandi; great granddaughter, Emilee James; brother, Gaston Dodd and wife, Nelma; sister-in-law, Elba Dodd; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 10:30 AM at Shiloh Cemetery, Cooper, Texas. A service celebrating her life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at New Hope Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Edna will be remembered as a devoted momma, memaw and friend.
