Edna was born and raised on a farm in Gibson County, Tennessee. Her sister Mamie milked the cows but Edna liked making gravy and frying green tomatoes. She married Bonnie Haney at age 23. They were complete opposites but by all accounts it was a happy marriage that lasted 33 years until his death in 1970. Edna put her heart and soul into everything she did. Until just before her 89th birthday in 2003, Edna was still living alone, working part-time, driving herself to work and church, serving family dinners on Wednesday nights and stirring up the world. All who knew and loved this spunky lady celebrate her life and are thankful for the way that her life has enriched theirs.
