If Love Could Have Saved You, You Would Have Lived Forever. Dwayne Shelton Hopkins, beloved Husband, Daddy and Papa, born October 6, 1937, passed away on December 31, 2011. Dwayne fought for 5 yrs with his struggle ofLeukemia (CLL) and Lymphoma. Dwayne was born in Eustace, Texas to his adored parents Bert and Hyla Shelton Hopkins, who have preceded him in death. Dwayne was raised in the Pleasant Grove area and his love of Dallas was unmatched. After graduating in 1956 from the last class of Pleasant Grove High School and attending Draughans Business College he went on with his career. Working forReliance Insuranceas an Insurance Underwriter and retiring after thirty-one years.Of the Baptist faith, he loved attending church. And told the doctor he needed more time,he had not finished reading the Bible.He and his wife Katherine loved their travels to wonderful places. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Katherine, his belovedthree daughters and their families: Thasia and Ronnie Foster,Tana and Bruce Reed, Tierney and Barry Jumper. He was Papa to his six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter (his little sweetie).Grandchildren: Justin his wife Jennifer Foster, Blake Reed his fianceAlyson,Brooke Reedand her friend Ben,BJ and Valerie Jumper , Katelyn Jumper and Joshua Jumper and his little sweetieJacie DeAnn Foster. Two sister Maurine Bandruand Twyla Myers and their families. To his many sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews,he loved andenjoyed your company very much.
