Dudley Russell Hartzog

Today we honor the passing of Dudley Russell Hartzog, 80, of Forney TX on January 18, 2019. He was born December 15, 1938 in Varnado,LA to Otis and Lonie Hartzog. He was preceded in death by his parents Otis Hartzog and Lonie Woodward Hartzog, his brother John Parker, his loving daughter Kay Hartzog and beautiful granddaughter Stacy Bankhead. Dudley was married to Ethel Jones in mid 1950's and they had 3 children together. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 - 1962 as a Seaman doing one tour over seas. After his time in the military he worked for MSI and became certified in Electronics and worked for them for 20 or more years. Dudley and Ethel later divorced and he eventually moved to Texas. He met Kathy and they were married in 1991. He continued his life working on Electronics and most of all working in his famous garden every year. He was an ultimate fan of the Texas Rangers. He loved to go fishing and hunting and playing his guitar and banjo. Dudley was survived by his loving wife of 28 years Kathy Hartzog of Forney, his children Russell "Rusty" Hartzog of Bogalusa, LA , Shay Hartzog of Weatherford,TX, Jennifer and husband Shane Barger of Quinlan,TX, Deric and wife Jacque Grills of Forney,TX. His grandchildren Becky and husband Jeff Dahn, Brittani and husband Zach Wright, Torri Sayman and fiance' Ryan Audet, J.J. and wife Darci Barger, Ashley and husband Daniel Adams, Seth Grills, Keyara Dickson, Dashad Cagle, SkyAnne Cagle, and Paris Casel. His great grandchildren Jerry Dylon Satterfield, Tanner Harrison, Madison Meers, Adeline Meers, Jeffery Meers, Bree-Anna Adams,Dylon Adams,Aiden Wright, and Jaymean Jones. And his brothers, Robert Hartzog, Roy Hartzog, Bill Parker, and Gene Parker and several nieces and nephews.
