Doyle Wesley Chapman

January 21, 1931 — August 23, 2022

Doyle Chapman was born January 21, 1931 and was called home to heaven on August 23, 2022. Doyle attended W.H. Adamson High School in Dallas Texas in the 1940's. Doyle bravely served in the Korean War, where he received 2 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. Doyle worked at Inwood Sign and Banner until his retirement in the 1990's. Doyle was an avid bass fisherman and lived and breathed fishing. He also enjoyed dove, duck and quail hunting but fishing was his main love. Doyle loved tending and growing his figs, tomato plants and various other gardening activities. Doyle loved to advise his family on wise investing and instilled in his children and those younger the importance of working hard for a living and investing for the future. Doyle had a special relationship with his Savior Jesus. He believed in John 3:16 and a life everlasting. Doyle believed that our fate was firmly in the hands of our Lord, and that calm faith was not loudly spoken but was clearly heard and understood by his calming presence. Doyle loved watching thunderstorms and was in awe of God's power through weather and nature. Doyle is survived by his daughter Dorinda, (Edgar), his sister Sarah Ann, and Doyle's step-son Jim. Doyle is also survived by his grandchildren, Marcos, Sonia, Matthew, Kalli , Joeli, and his step-grandchildren David, Steven, Amy , Jamie Brooke, and Marighny. Doyle is also survived by many great and great-great grandchildren in addition other extended family that loved him dearly as a father, grandfather, uncle, brother, or simply friend. Doyle is preceded in death by beloved family members: his wife Elizabeth - his parents Wes and Bessie, his daughter Shelley, stepdaughters Kathy and Bettye, and his two sons-in-law Donald and Edelmiro. Also preceding Doyle was his grandchildren, Shannon, Emily, Laura , Stephen, and his loving companion for many years Joanne. Memorial donations can be made in Doyle's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
