Douglas Charles Charba

Douglas Charles Charba "Pepaw" 80 Years old resident of Seagoville, TX 11-22-1930 - 5-12-2011. Born and raised in Dallas, TX to parents Vensel and Albina Charba. A graduate of Forest Avenue High School in Dallas 1949. Married to high school sweetheart Haroldiene on August 10, 1950. Drafted by the Army in 1952 created a move to Albuquerque, NM. Albuquerque is the birth city of the first of four children. After serving in the Korean War, Doug was honorably discharged in April 1954. The couple returned to Dallas, TX area and added three more children. The family relocated in 1968 to Mesquite,TX where a new business was started to sell nuts, bolts and all associated items. Late 1980's Doug decided to enter into a small family owned cattle business. The success of the nut and bolt business lead to the purchase of 150 acre farm in Seagoville, TX. The family farm became one of his passions until his passing. Doug was a member of the SPJST, APHA, Honorary Chapter Farmer/Forney FFA. Survived by wife Haroldiene Charba and three children David & Lou Ann Charba of Desoto, Deana Gayle Charba and Steve & Danette Sorrells all of Seagoville. Six grand children Jeremiah & Ashlee McAdams, James G Toliver & Breanna Charba, Colton Charba, Justin & Kaylea Daniel, Clay Sorrells, Matthew Sorrells; five great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. Preceded in death by his oldest son Doug Charba, Jr. The viewing will be held on Sunday May 15, 2011 from 2:00 PM thru 4:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale,Texas. The Memorial Service will be held on Monday May 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM graveside service immediately following at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas.
