Dorothy Springer

SPRINGER, Dorothy Estelle of Plano, born September 23, 1920, passed away May 10, 2008. Preceded in death by parents, Emmett & Pearl Croxton, daughter, Kathy Phillips, brother, Armon Croxton, sisters, Marie Richman & Wanda Adams. Survived by son, E. J. Creech & wife, Lynda; grandson, Jason Creech; sisters, Kay Compton & husband, Joe Lee, Peggy Jones & husband, Leon; sister-in-law, Cecil Croxton; step-daughter, Bobby Jeanette Jeter; many other loving family and friends. Service will be 2:00PM Tuesday May 13, 2008 at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Forney, Texas. When E.J. was between 4 and 5 he and his mother had a disagreement and he packed his little bag and started up Shands Street coming to a stop at the bridge.At this point he looked back to see if Mother was following him. She was nowhere in sight so he started walking back home deciding he must have made a big mistake and the best place for him was at home with Mother.Later in life he learned that Mother was watching out the window during his attempted runaway. During one of Dorothy's road trips she called home to the family and said they were fine and were in Las Vegas (which we knew was out of character for her, but did not go into details at the time).Upon returning home, we asked about her trip to Las Vegas and she said "Las Vegas, New Mexico was okay" and smiled.
