Dorothy Curry Flanagan went to meet her Lord and Savior, Monday, May 5, 2014, at the age of 79.Dorothy was born in Houston, TX, on December 8, 1934, to Wallace A. Curry and Claudia Davis Curry, who preceded her in death.She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John J. Flanagan of Mesquite, TX, her daughters Carol E. Flanagan of Mesquite and Cynthia Roberson and son-in-law Ray of Garland.She is also survived by her brothers, Michael A. Curry and wife Ginny of Mosier, OR, Charles Curry and wife Cynthia of Beaumont and brother-in-law J. B. Flanagan and wife Anna, also of Beaumont. Dorothy is also survived by a special niece, Connie M. Flanagan of Tyler, TX and great-nieces Ashley Hunter and Natalie Johnson, numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and many grandchildren of the heart. Dorothy lovingly opened her home to family members through the years and loved them as her own. John and Dorothy spent mornings together, drinking coffee and watching the birds and squirrels in their backyard.She had a great love for animals, especially her cat, Fatima and her dog Sophie. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mesquite.Her memorial service will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Humane Society of the United States or the First United Methodist Church of Mesquite.
