Born Dora Lavene on June 10, 1947 in Antlers, Oklahoma to parents Jack and Hazel (Rozell) Jones, Dora was the sixth of eight children: four girls and four boys. The loving family of ten lived in a sprawling two-bedroom one-bath home. These close quarters served to make a very tight knit, loving, fun family. The Jones have always enjoyed each other’s company and never turned down an opportunity to be together. Dora particularly loved planning and hosting get togethers of her brothers and sisters to celebrate their family, the holidays, and birthdays. On June 6, 1964, Dora married her high school sweetheart, Larry Echols. In 1966, Dora and Larry were blessed with daughter Kimberly and again in 1969 with daughter Kristy joining the family. Dora loved and nurtured her girls as they grew to be the ladies and mothers they are today. Once her girls were in school, she began working at a local bank in Henryetta, Oklahoma. This small-town banking opportunity led Dora to a career of many years of serving in various positions in banks everywhere she would live. In January of 1998, Dora married again to Shelby Baucum. Shelby eventually convinced Dora to leave banking and join him in running his pool cleaning business. Dora became the heart of Blue Pools and a caring special person to all the men working with her and Shelby, all who will miss her immensely. Shelby and Dora enjoyed a life working together and devotedly loved and cared for each other dearly. Dora was an excellent seamstress and could make literally anything. She made countless clothing items, bedding, drapes, Halloween costumes, you name it and all without using a pattern. She was also an amazing landscape designer and home decorator enjoying working in her flower beds, decorating every wall, and doing countless “projects” around the house. She loved making anything more beautiful! Her greatest treasures on this earth, besides her two daughters, were her five grandchildren. They were her pride and joy! She loved doing anything that involved them. Mombles always had time to babysit any or all, take them for walks, attend their school and sports events, watch a movie, do an outing of lunch and shopping, teach them an Elvis song, or make her famous ‘homemade’ chocolate cake. Dora is survived by husband Shelby Baucum, two daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly Cook (Scott), Kristy Sahm (Beaude), three granddaughters Maegan Barazza (Adrian), Emily Cook, and Avery Sahm, two grandsons Harper and Harrison Sahm, and great-grandson Jonas Barazza. Three sisters and brothers-in-law Freddie Pierce (Bob), Martha Thomas (Donnie), and Nanine Parker (Kevin). Two brothers and two sisters-in-law Arthur Jones, Charlie Jones (Diana) and Betty Jones. Dora is preceded in death by loving parents Jack and Hazel Jones, two brothers and sisters-in-law Johnny and Horace Jones (Gloria) and Dianne Jones.
