Dora Jane Barnhill Saliba, age 64, of Forney, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Baylor Hospital in Plano, Texas, of cancer. She was born to Robert Brooks Barnhill, Sr. and Evelyn Marie Tomlin on February 25, 1949. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on July 24, 2013 at New Hope Funeral Home. Reverend Vince Willis of Centerpoint Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on July 23, 2013 at New Hope Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at the Haven of Memories Cemetery in Canton, Texas. Dora spent most of her life in Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated from Faulkner University (then Alabama Christian College). Dora served honorably in the United States Air Force as a jet aircraft mechanic in the 1970s. Family and friends were Doras love and joy. She lived life to the fullest, and never really met a stranger. Most importantly she knew Christ as her Savior! She enjoyed writing, sewing, traveling and working on things. Dora is survived by her brothers, Thomas Kenneth Barnhill, Marvin Gary Barnhill, Paul Knight Barnhill, and sisters, Edna Gay Barker, Evelyn Annette Middlebanks, Sharon Lynn Rabeck, Francis Celeste Gilbert, Nancy Maureen Barnhill, and Wanda Kay Cook; her three children, Teresa Jane Joiner-Wonders, CJ Willis, and Samuel Jefferson Tyus; her six grandchildren Jasmine Haley Marie Willis, Robert Dalton Willis, Christopher Floied Willis, Madeline Elizabeth Wonders, Judy Elizabeth Willis and Gabriel Raymond Willis. She also leaves behind many other caring relatives and friends. Dora is preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Saliba; parents, Robert Brooks Barnhill, Sr. and Evelyn Marie Tomlin; as well as her brothers, Robert Brooks Barnhill, Jr., and recently John Edward Barnhill.
