Don R Bradley, 68, a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, went home to his Savior on March 3, 2012 in Dallas, Texas, after years of struggle with COPD. He lived at the Christian Care Center in Mesquite since December 2010. Previously, he lived in various senior communities in the McKinney and Dallas area. Reverend Bradley was born in Mineral Wells, Texas and lived much of his life in the DFW area with notable exceptions. His path of ministry led him to serve in numerous churches including: Samuels Ave Baptist (Fort Worth), FBC Forsan, FBC Big Spring, Northway Baptist (Dallas), and FBC Mesquite. God placed a burden for international missions on his heart at a young age. Don served as a Southern Baptist Missionary in Costa Rica and Guatemala during the years of 1977-1979. After serving as Executive Pastor at FBC Mesquite for 11 years, God called him to Africa. From 1991 until 1998, Don's ministry in and around Manzini, Swaziland was the most rewarding experience; at least six new churches were started along with dozens of preaching points as well as extensive work with refugee camps. During this time, 1000s were brought to Christ and many lives changed. Anyone who knew Don after his return from Africa surely heard stories of this most fruitful time. Sadly, health reasons brought a return to the US but his ministry did not end. Don shared Jesus with nearly everyone that crossed his path including the occasional telemarketer. He is survived by his three children, son Tracy & Sheryl Bradley of Allen, daughter Carri & Jason Eddy of Rockwall, son Travis & Tasha Bradley of Prosper and 8 grandchildren; his sisters Jane & Dale Shook of Hobbs, NM and Alice & Tom Redmond of Atlanta, GA. A Memorial service will be held at the Dobbs Valley Baptist Church near Mineral Wells. The real celebration already began in Heaven.
