Donna Kay Damron Morris passed away on September 25, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Jack W. Morris, as well as two brothers, Alton Damron and Clyde Damron. Donna was born on December 10, 1934 to Thomas Loland Damron and Louella Brazelle Damron in Hartford, Kansas.Her family moved to Idabel, Oklahoma when she was a young child so her father could pursue his career in farming.She grew up in Idabel and graduated from Idabel High School.After graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas to live with her cousins while she attended business school.After business school, she worked as a secretary for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and later at Mobil Oil Corporation in Dallas.She met Jack Morris on a blind date, and they were married on November 19, 1955.When Jack and Donna started their family, Donna worked from home typing dictation for a Dallas attorney. In 1980, Donna went to work at SMU as the secretary to the Dean of Women, Emmy Bane.She was later promoted to the Secretary to the Dean of Students, Jim Caswell. She remained at SMU until she retired in 2004.In retirement, Donna and Jack were among the founders of the first free medical clinic in east Dallas, Mission East Dallas, a ministry of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church. Donna also worked in ministry to her Sunday School class, as well as the greeter’s desk on a regular basis. Most recently, Donna served in an outreach cookie ministry that provided cookies and visitation to homebound seniors within her Sunday School class. Donna Morris was a pillar of emotional strength and love for her family, as well as those in need.She sought to share the love of Jesus Christ on a very personal and practical level. Donna Morris is survived by two brothers and their wives, Paul and Jan Damron of Topeka, Kansas and John and Kathy Damron of Irving, Texas.She is also survived by her three children and their families, Kirk Morris and wife Christy Morris, Ross Morris and wife Jessica Morris, and Kim Ludwick and husband Kevin Ludwick.Donna is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Payne Morris, Kendall Morris, Lindsey Salazar and husband David Salazar, Kyle Ludwick, Lance Ludwick, Jade Morris, Jacy Morris, Jacob Morris, Cooper Morris, and Caroline Morris. She is also survived by a cousin, Gladys Brock, who was like a sister to her, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
