A Life Well Lived Thank you for a life well lived, your commitment, love, and honor Dad, the humble ways you have taught your son and daughter A friend to all no one would doubt The treasured moments we now think about A hug, a smile, an encouraging word A whistle, a tune, we often heard They helped each of us through many challenging days We remember I love you was never hard for you to say A promise made was always delivered Thank you for your forgiveness and your prayers offered You honored your country and your King And you knew and understood that the Lord ruled over everything A quick trick, a funny joke, we were always excited to see Grandpa always had time and a place on his knee A coin or some gift you always shared There was never a doubt how much you cared Our tears and sadness we will get through somehow Because we know that God is blessing you right now A smile remembered on your face And a desire for each of us to join you some day in that sweet place Your son, Steve In loving memory of my father, Donald Ray Jaynes
