Donald Gunnels

Donald Ray Gunnels, age 66, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in Mesquite, Texas. Born on September 11, 1957, in Erin, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Billy and Edith Gunnels.

For over forty years, Donald worked in the construction industry as a roofer and later as a cabinet maker for MEDCO Construction, a company associated with building and remodeling hospitals in the Baylor Healthcare network. As a result, a lot of his hobbies and interests revolved around woodworking.

Donald was the loving husband of wife, Julie Gunnels, as well as a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Edith Gunnels; brothers, Reese Gunnels, Gary Gunnels, and Richard Gunnels; sisters, Sharon Hamlett, Connie Brown, Sue Young, and Teresa Gunnels.

In addition to his loving wife, Julie, those left behind to cherish his memories are his son, Marvin Gunnels; his granddaughter, Lillian Gunnels; his siblings, Lisa Jenkins, and Mark Gunnels; along with an array of nephews and nieces who will all greatly miss him.
